Dropping these in during pre-wire was the easiest part of the whole install, and the sealed steel box really tightened up the low end compared to the open-back setup I had before. They fit the cutout perfectly.

These metal back boxes made a noticeable difference in how tight the low end sounds compared to the open-back setup I had before. Dropping them in before the drywall went up was easy since they're sized for the ceiling speakers I was using.

Installed these during the pre-wire phase of our new build and the steel feels rock solid once mounted. The sealed enclosure keeps insulation and drywall dust away from the speaker, which gives me peace of mind before the walls close up.
